Current Initiatives

The Go Green, Green Tree initiative began with a shared realization: our Borough has the potential to do far more to support sustainable living. Whether it’s improving land stewardship, expanding green energy opportunities, or helping residents understand the environmental impact of suburban life, Democrats for Green Tree is committed to pursuing innovative, practical ways to build a more environmentally conscious community.

A Welcoming Green Tree For All was created from our desire to better connect with new neighbors and help all residents truly feel at home. Whether someone is moving from across town or from across the world, Democrats for Green Tree is committed to reviewing existing procedures and advocating for policies that make their transition easier, their voices heard, and their presence valued. Together, we can build a community where every new neighbor feels welcomed, supported, and included.

Current Focus Areas:

• Supporting our foreign-born neighbors

  • Advocate for policies that clearly define and limit how the Green Tree Police Department interacts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

  • Connect residents with training and volunteer opportunities.

• Advocate for the implementation of accurate closed captioning for all public Borough meetings.

• Advocate for specialized sensory training and kits to support first responders in assisting residents who are neutro-distinct.
